Armed Robber dies in a horrible accident while trying to steal a victim’s car in Ondo State. The armed robbers were arrested but one of them died at the hospital while receiving treatment.

In what is popularly termed as, ‘karma’, some armed robbers have been involved in a road crash while attempting to escape with one of their victim’s vehicle.

According to reports,  the three suspects were taken into custody on Sunday, the 19th of June by the operatives of the Ogun state police command after they were involved in the road accident.

They were said to be fleeing with a Toyota Camry car which they allegedly stole at gunpoint somewhere in Ondo state.

Speaking on the incident while talking to news reporters earlier, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects were driving towards Lagos from Ondo state with the vehicle they stole.

However, when they got to a point at Ode Remo, due to reckless driving, the vehicle reportedly hit a culvert and somersaulted. The PPRO said the three occupants, sustained various degrees of injuries and were immediately rushed to hospital by the policemen from Ode Remo divisional headquarters.

While in the hospital, the DPO of Ode Remo division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi, received some information that, the vehicle they were driving was snatched at gunpoint by the accident victims. After receiving the information, the DPO quickly ordered that they should be placed under arrest while still receiving treatment at the hospital.

Furthermore, the owner of the vehicle came all the way from Ondo state to explain that he was attacked on the road by a gang of five men dressed like policemen, and that he was dragged out of the car at gunpoint and the vehicle stolen from him.

“One of the suspects, identified as Emeka John later died while receiving treatment.

“The remaining two, namely: Sunday Emmanuel and Idris Ibrahim were ordered to be transferred to state criminal investigation and intelligence department by the commissioner of police, cp Edward Awolowo Ajogun, for onward transfer to Ondo state command where they will be prosecuted,” According to the statement.
