The use of African Botanicals in the Formulation of Cosmetic Products

The Society of Cosmetic Scientists Nigeria, NICOS, is a professional community for scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs to promote and encourage education, research, and sustainable growth of the Nigerian cosmetics and personal care market worldwide. ‘Elevating African Beauty through Science’ is our ultimate mission.

We were very excited to become the 50th member of the International Federation of Cosmetic Chemists, abbreviated to the IFSCC, at the last global congress organized by Japan in October 2020.

We are proud to announce that we have two digital events coming up in July 2021.

On 2nd July 2021 at 3 pm Nigeria time (GMT+1), we are hosting an educational webinar on formulating with African botanicals featuring prominent cosmetic science practitioner and author John Knowlton. You can obtain a complimentary ticket by using the promo code NICOSJULY and following through with the link:

In the following week, the official NICOS Launch Conference taking place on the 8th of July from 4pm Nigeria time (GMT+1). We have an engaging lineup of prominent speakers to give an excellent insight of the Nigerian cosmetics industry from key perspectives, namely research and development with Gbenga Showole from P&G, regulatory matters with Prince Nsofor from NAFDAC, academia with Professor Olayinka Asekun from Univerity of Lagos and product safety testing with the consultant, Dr Mabel Iwobi. The presentations will be followed by a live panel session with the speakers, joined by Mr. Ikpong Imoh, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria. This is an excellent opportunity to ask your important questions about the cosmetics industry directly to our special guests who will be in the same virtual room with you!

As a landmark event, entry is free, so all you have to do is register through eventbrite by using this link;
