Green Africa Airways is the new competition in the aviation sector with fares that cost N16,500 from Lagos to Abuja which started on Tuesday the 25th of May, 2021.
Green Africa Airways, a Nigerian start-up carrier, has launched its entry into Nigerian aviation sector.
On Tuesday the 25th of May, 2021, the airline began selling tickets for travellers to reserve a seat on its fleet.
The aviation company had initailly unveiled an initial route network on which to carry out its’ operations.
The network is focused on its Lagos base and comprises of six domestic destinations, including Abuja, Port Harcourt, Akure, Ilorin, Enugu and Owerri.
The airline noted that operations will be increase as it receives more aircraft in the months to come and during the course of the year.
Although ticket sales has begun, the airline will commence flight operation to various local destinations from the 24th of June, 2021.
A review of the airline’s charges shows that flight fees for Lagos and Abuja and vice-versa for the year is between N16,500 and N23,000.
The price is much less when compared to current prices charged by other airlines operating in the country.
In April, the airline took delivery of two ATR 72-600s registered 5N-GAA and 5N-GAE.
Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos received both aircraft and they have a capacity of 70 passengers in an all-economy, 2-2 layout.

Green Africa Airways said that plans are being implemented to increase its fleet of ATR turboprops to 15 aircraft by the end of next year.
The airline announced a 10 percent discount for travellers booking on its website as a way to celebrate its launch.
