64-Year-Old Killed While Quarrelling with Ex-Lover at a Bar

A 64-year-old man was killed while quarreling with an ex-lover at a bar in Lagos State, the heated argument happened between the man and the owner of the bar.

Osita Anwuanwu,  the 64-year-old man, was murdered at a drinking joint in Ikotun, a suburb located in Lagos State.
 

The deceased had allegedly gone to a drinking bar at Ikotun with the intention of reconciling with his ex-lover when a violent argument sprung up between him and the owner of the bar.

It was reported that while the man was at the bar, the argument graduated into a fight between the deceased, Ngozi the owner of the bar, and his ex-lover.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Lagos State Police Spokesman, who confirmed the incident, said the two suspects have been taken into custody in relation to the incident.

Adejobi stated that the 64-year-old man was killed in the Arida area of Ikotun at about 8.45 pm on the 8th of April, 2021.

He explained that Linda Anwuanwu, the daughter of the deceased,  who lives at Temitope street, off Governor’s Road, Ikotun, was the person who reported the murder incident to the police.

Adejobi said the late Mr. Ositas’s daughter informed the police that her father was lying down on the floor of a bar at Arida.

“She stated that her father was found lying down on the floor of the bar after he had a misunderstanding with Ngozi Emezue,  aged 38, and Juliet Eguebor,  aged 35.

“The police at Ikotun Division rushed to the scene and immediately took the deceased to the General Hospital, Igando, but he was confirmed dead on arrival.”

In addition, Adejobi said that a preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the deceased had gone to check his lady friend, Juliet, whom he had been in contact with for a while, at Ngozi’s bar. At the bar, he engaged the duo in a hot argument and physical assault before he slumped.

According to the police, the two suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for more investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of Mr. Osita Anwuanwu.
