Obasanjo, Sultan, General Abubakar, and Others held an 8-Hour Closed-Door Meeting

Obasanjo, Sultan, General Abubakar, and Others held an 8-Hour Closed-Door Meeting in Abuja on Thursday the 10th of June 2021.

The meeting of the Committee for the Goodness of Nigeria (CGN) was held behind privately  in Abuja on Thursday.

The CGN is a group that included the Interface Initiative for Peace led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and former Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan; National Peace Committee under the leadership of former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar and the Sociocultural Consultative Committee led by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

It was reported that these prominent Nigerians met behind closed doors at the Transcorp Hilton Conference room.

Some others who also attended the  meeting were the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; the Etsu Nupe, Dr Yahaya Abubakar; former Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Kanu Agabi; Chief Tunde Fasawe, former Minister of Agriculture and Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum,( ACF)  Chief Audu Ogbeh.

Furthermore, the  President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba and President of Ohanaeze Ndi’gbo, Professor Ralph Obiozor also attended the meeting.

When asked about what was discussed in the  meeting, the eminent Nigerians refused to give comments when the  closed-door meeting which lasted for over eight hours had ended.

No further information was given at the end of the meeting but the spokesman of the CGN, Ahmed Magaji, informed reporters that a communique would be issued. It was however not revealed at press time last night.

It was also discovered that the eminent Nigerians have scheduled a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. When asked to confirm the date for the meeting with President Buhari, Chief Ogbeh said, “no time has been fixed yet.”

What was discussed by these prominent individuals is not known yet, but it is clear the meeting has something to do with the present state of the Nation.

We recall that recently there has been a lot of crime all across Nigeria, especially the Eastern and Northern part of Nigeria.

Information regarding the purpose of the meeting will surely be communicated once it is released.
