Gunmen burndown Police Station in Imo State and release detainees again.

Gunmen burndown Police Station in Imo State and release detainees again just some hours after the Imo State correctional center and police headquarters in Imo was attacked on Monday the 5th of April, 2021.

The Gunmen on Tuesday the 6th of April attacked another police station located in Imo State, released suspects in detention, and destroyed the facility.

This incident occurred just barely 24 hours after the Imo State Correctional Centre and the State Police Headquarters was raided on Monday with many inmates set free.

Tuesday’s incident occurred a few hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammed Adamu returned back to Abuja after visiting the state.

The VP, IGP, and the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, were in the state to access the level of damage on the burnt security facilities.

The hoodlums attacked and burnt Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday the 6th of April.

Without carrying out a proper investigation, the former IGP Adamu had on Tuesday accused members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Eastern Security Network, ESN, of carrying out the attacks.

The outgoing IGP made the claim after the IPOB in a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, denied any involvement in the wicked and barbarous act.

The gunmen were said to have carried out their operation without any resistance from Security agencies on Tuesday.
