FG makes Shocking Discovery on Boko Haram Sponsors
The Federal Government (FG) makes a shocking discovery on Boko Haram sponsors within and outside Nigeria. Reports show the funds also come from the UAE.
The Federal Government has made a shocking discovery of those who are guilty of sponsoring Boko Haram and bandits, the Presidency said on Monday the 29th of March.
It explained that a connection between kidnapping for ransom, banditry and Boko Haram sponsorship had been discovered.
The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu, said. that some of the sponsors include: some bureau de change operators who have contacts abroad.
He also claimed that there is evidence to prove that money is being sent from United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Boko Haram leaders.
This also confirmed the statement of the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Dr. Kayode Fayemi that Boko Haram sponsors are behind kidnapping and stealing as a means of gathering information.
He also stated that some individuals found guilty have been arrested and their identity will be revealed soon.
He cautioned that there will be no preferential treatment given to anybody guilty even if the person is a poliutician.
Shehu said: “It is still surprising to many Nigerian that places of worship and farmland are places where murderes of policemen and security officials are being kept.
“The new Service chiefs are working with the IG and heads of intelligence agencies and thankfully there is a vivid lead.
Numerous people have been arrested for financing terrorism.
“There are a bunch of people who are presently under arrest.
“Bureau de change operatives are sending money to terrorists. We have also come to a conclusion with the UAE regarding the Nigerians who are sending money to Boko Haram terrorists because this happens very often.
“And I say to you that by the time we finalize this investigation, the shocking details will surprise many Nigerians.”
In addition to that, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Security Chiefs to remove the leaders and sponsors of bandits and kidnappers.
He also remembered his drive to bring down violence in the country within the next couple of weeks.
