Don Jazzy speaks on rumors of being broke
Nigerian music producer Don Jazzy speaks on rumors of him being broke, staying in a rented apartment, and his love for real estate investment.
The C.E.O. of Mavin Records revealed this in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu from the Black box.
Ebuka began the interview by congratulating Don Jazzy on his recent acquisition of a mansion. He then asked Don Jazzy why he chose to show off the property online.
According to Don Jazzy, he said he had several houses but he liked his new mansion more. He stated that he saw some people walking around the house in the early hours of the day and didn’t want them to publicize the story the way he wouldn’t like it. He further stated that he has been staying there for about a month of two.
“As I saw those people moving around in the morning holding cameras and by evening no news had been released yet, I just said lemme just kukuma post my house jejely before they will come and say one long story. I don’t want wahala.”
When Don Jazzy was asked if he ever heard stories about him living in a rented apartment, Don Jazzy said they were not even rumors or something he kept hidden.
He explained that he isn’t one of those people who gets offended by what people think about his house. Don Jazzy has made a lot of investments worth about N300M – N400M. He also said that he has a lot of investments that will yield more fruit than purchasing he house.
“I’m not one of those people who is bothered about the ‘do you have a house’ conversation. Yes, I moved from a rented house to my new house.”
Don Jazzy made it clear that the rumors never bothered him and that he couldn’t afford to buy a house because couldn’t afford it at the time.
Talking about investments, the record label boss said he has about five properties in Lagos only.
He finally said that by the time is done with music and getting all the money he can, he would move on to investing in real estate and Bitcoins on a bigger platform.
