President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a message to the Super Eagles, urging them to change their tactics and fire on all cylinders in the final stages of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
The President passed this message through the Minister of Sports, John Enoh, who spoke to the players from Abuja via Zoom on Wednesday night in Abidjan. Enoh revealed that he had a meeting with the President the previous day, where the President expressed his disappointment with the team’s last match.
However, he also showed an understanding of the game and urged the players to do better in the upcoming matches. Enoh added that the President is actually watching their matches and is confident that they will be more impressive in the round of 16 and beyond.
Responding to the message, team captain Ahmed Musa thanked the sports minister and President Tinubu for their support. He also called on Mr. President to do the team a favor by joining them live to watch their games, which would be a big motivation for the team.
