AstraZeneca-‘no evidence vaccine causes blood clots.’

AstraZeneca-‘no evidence vaccine causes blood clots.’ Based on the review of all data provided, there is no evidence of the vaccine causing blood clots.

“A cautious review of all available safety data has proven that there is no proof of a heightened risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis or thrombocytopenia, in any specified age group, sex, batch or in any particular country,” the company said

AstraZeneca said on Sunday the 14th of March that a review of its data discovered no evidence that its vaccine against the coronavirus leads to blood clots. The same day, Ireland and the Netherlands joined a growing list of countries that are suspending drug use.

“A careful study of all safety data provided shows that there is no proof of a huge risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis or thrombocytopenia, in any specified age group, sex, group or any particular country,” the company stated.

The review covered over 17 million people who had received the vaccine in Britain and the European Union. It was conducted when Ireland and the Netherlands joined Denmark, Norway, and Iceland in temporarily stopping the administration of the vaccine because of clotting issues. Austria also stopped using a batch of the shot last week while investigating death from coagulation disorders.

The deputy chief medical officer, Ronan Glynn, expressed on Sunday the 14th of March that though there was no final link between the vaccine and incidents of blood clots, he would suggest suspending the use of the vaccine as a precautionary measure.

His recommendation was as a result of Norway reporting four cases of blood clots in adults. The report was in connection with the AstraZeneca jab.

The company and the European Medicines Agency, and the World Health Organisation have stated that there is no indication the vaccine caused the clotting events.

Despite this news, a lot of people are still hesitant about receiving the vaccine. People are more concerned for their safety and the different countries suspending the vaccination doesn’t help matters.
