Some Nigerians have decided to use Twitter as a medium to air their opinion about the death of popular female comedian, Ada Jesus. According to the users of the online platform, the comedian died due to the country’s poor healthcare system.
So far, tweets about the comedian’s death has lead to a lot of engagements on Twitter and it has produced more than 12,000 tweets. The late skit maker now trends at number two on Twitter.
Ada Jesus died two days after celebrating her birthday. The young lady had been battling with kidney disease in addition to a stroke that left her indisposed before her death.
Her untimely demise was revealed by Harrison Gwamnishu, a man who had been looking after the ailing comedian. Gwamnishu led a group of Nigerians that took the comedian to the hospital for medical treatment when reports of her illness went viral.
In an interview, Gwamnishu stated that the Ada Jesus died yesterday the 21st of April, at 7:15 am.
Here’s Gwamnishus’s comment, “Yes, she is dead. She passed on this morning at about 7:15 am I was at the hospital at the time she died. Yesterday evening she was strong, happy and laughing with us. She celebrated her birthday two days ago. We bought cake and drinks for her and she was full of joy. Everybody was happy and celebrated with her as well. Yesterday evening she was still happy and when I was about to vacate the premises, she did not want me to leave but I had to lie to her that I was going to call the doctor, and that was how I left the hospital. At about 11 pm, her husband called me that they needed to give her an injection that costs N50,000 but they did not have the money so I had to transfer it to them.
Furthermore, he explained that after the injection was administered to her, they said that her breathing became very bad so he had to leave where he was at about 12:15 am to hurriedly arrive at the hospital. At the time the doctors gave her oxygen to ensure that her breathing became more stable. At about 1:30 am she was moved to the intensive care unit ward where they kept her. It was the next morning that they confirmed that she had died.”
Prior to her death, the comedian had made many allegations against some people, including veteran actress, Rita Edochie and Anambra-based prophet, Chukwuemeka Odumejeje.
Ada Jesus had claimed that prophet Odumejeje, worked with Rita Edochie to stage fake miracles. The funny lady further revealed that she helps Edochie get men to sleep with her.
Based on these allegations, Edochie and Odumejeje vowed never to forgive the skit maker for her utterances. However, they both decided to have a change of heart and forgive the comedian before she passed away.
Rita Edochie said that she had forgiven Ada Jesus ‘from her heart of heart,’ while the prophet announced that he has also forgiven the skit maker and it was also revealed that he offered her family N1m for her treatment.
But since the news of her death was announced, Nigerian tweeter users have taken to their various account to blame her death on the poor healthcare system in Nigeria.
For instance, Dr. Olufunmilayo, a Twitter influencer, and medical doctor, through his Twitter handle @DrOlufunmilayo made a thread explaining that the comedian would have survived her kidney disease if Nigeria had a good healthcare system.
