Google honors the late Oliver De Coque on his 74th birthday by altering their logo to celebrate the singer with a Doodle design on their homepage.

The doodle was live on Wednesday as a means to honor late De Coque‘s contributions to the growth of Nigerian music and the Nigerian music industry. The legend would have been 74 on the 14th of April, 2021.

In 1977, he released his premiere album called  ‘Messiah Messiah’ which was a major hit. Several reports have also  claimed that between  the year 1977 up until his death in 2008, De Coq more than 70 bodies of work. He is also regarded as an offspring of Ogene, the fast-paced, bell-based version of Highlife.

Oliver de coque married four wives and is survived by twelve beautiful children.

Google truly honored the late artiste by changing it’s homepage logo to mark the remembrance of this iconic star. It is regarded as a huge deal for anyone to be honored by Google and for them to choose Oliver de coque is a major thing for Nigeria.

We remember the great Oliver de coque and hope the current Nigerian artistes can take a few pointers from his musical career and seek to grow in their creativity and delivery.
