One woman dead & 17 Others Injured In Bauchi Auto-Crash – FRSC. This happened on Wednesday the 17th of March.
One woman was confirmed dead, and 17 others were injured in a road crash that happened along Bauchi-Gombe road on Wednesday the 17th of March, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Bauchi state, stated that the accident took place in Dungulbi village, in Bauchi local government area. Two vehicles ran into each other as a result of wrongful overtaking.
Abdullahi said that a total of 18 people were part of the accident that happened between a Toyota Hummer bus with plate number FG25C04 and a commercial Ford vehicle, with plate number KTG 808 TT.
“A total number of 18 people were involved in the accident. There were 11 males, five females, one little boy, and one little girl, while the passenger who died is a female.
“The possible cause of this accident is unwarranted overtaking. The corpse and the victims have been taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBU-TH) for treatment and confirmation.”
He further explained that the corps would not relent in its determination to sensitize drivers on safe driving and the need to adhere to traffic rules and regulations in the state.
In other news relating to this, the sector commander had earlier revealed to NAN that six people died while 54 others sustained different degrees of injury in yet another road crash that happened in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi state, also on Wednesday the 17th of March (NAN)
Drivers have to be more careful not just in Bauchi state but all across Nigeria. The safety measures and officials put in place are for protecting the lives of citizens.
