PDP has brighter prospects in 2023- Okowa
Okowa insists that PDP has brighter prospects in 2023. He believes the party stands a fighting chance at the presidency come 2023.
The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has brighter prospects of returning to power in 2023.
The Governor said this yesterday at PDP South-South zonal congress held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), and Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Moses Ekpo, representative of Governor Udom Emmanuel, attended the meeting.
The conference took place in Port Harcourt. Despite the Calabar High Court interim injunction restraining the PDP from holding its South-South zonal Congress, the meeting still held.
He proclaimed that the PDP would pull back the country from its sorry state. The lives of Nigerians will be improved from 2023 and beyond. The Governor strongly believes that if PDP members work together, the party can help change Nigeria for good.
He added that PDP’s South-South zone would continue to be a strong voice in national politics.
The Governor encouraged the representatives and members of the party to work together because, in that unity, the zone will substantially impact the nation collectively.
Governor Okowa reassured the zonal leadership that the South-South Governors would work with them to strengthen the state chapters of the party.
PDP national legal adviser Emmanuel Enoidem moved a motion to dissolve the zonal executive. The zonal executive was led by the acting zonal chairman, Chief Dan Orbih. The representing Edo South Senatorial District, Aisagbonriodion Matthew Urhoghide, supported the motion.
Governor Wike insisted that the PDP would improve the current state of the country. In addition to that, the South-South governors placed their hope on PDP’s ability to improve the living condition of Nigerians, which had diminished under the APC.
The meeting helped to stir up members of the PDP. It was also held to instill in them a sense of hope for the Nation. Nigeria has gone through a lot of turmoil with this current administration.
The PDP has chosen to work together because by doing so, Nigeria can restore its former glory stolen by corruption and bad governance.
