NNPP Wins All Chairmanship and Councillorship Seats in Kano Local Government Elections

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has declared the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) victorious in the local government elections, with the party sweeping all 44 chairmanship and 484 councillorship positions. This announcement was made by KANSIEC Chairman, Professor Sani Lawan Malunfashi, at the commission’s headquarters in Kano.

Professor Malunfashi highlighted that KANSIEC fulfilled its mandate by successfully organizing, overseeing, and conducting the elections across the state. The election process was described as peaceful and well-coordinated, owing to the contributions of various stakeholders such as security agencies, media, political party leaders, civil society organizations, and community leaders.

Expressing gratitude, Malunfashi credited the good people of Kano for their active participation and support, noting that the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election underscored public trust in the process. He commended the exercise as a reflection of the community’s endorsement of credibility, fairness, and democratic values at the grassroots level.

This outcome strengthens the NNPP’s position within Kano politics, setting the stage for its role in local governance.
