Nnamdi Kanu responds as Northern Elders beg for South East to leave Nigeria because IPOB now seems like a threat to the peace of Nigeria.
Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has described the call by Northern Elders Forum, NEF, that South East should be allowed to secede from Nigeria as quite sensible.
The Northern Elders Forum on Tuesday, the 8th of June, 2021, said that it has reviewed events and tendencies which suggest that the country is headed for more crises amidst the anxiety for Biafra, security challenges, to mention but a few.
The group noted also stated that due to the IPOB operations, Nigerians now live in fear of violence and uncertain future.
Furthermore, NEF said the capacity of the Nigerian State to keep citizens safe, protect the country’s territorial integrity and resist violent assaults is becoming limited to the point of making threats that have no impact.
The elders expressed their worry by stating that armed criminals have increased their dangerous activities in the country and therefore said that those beckoning to leave the country should be allowed to do so, in order to avoid another war.
In his reaction to the above statement, Kanu said, “Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has said in other to prevent another civil war, the Southeast should be allowed to secede if the movement is popular among the people in the region’
“Now, that’s very sensible but there’s a correction: #Biafra includes what you call SouthSouth.”
In a very recent report by the Global Terrorism Index that rated Nigerian herdsmen as fourth most deadliest terrorist group, Kanu stated , “Until @NigeriaGov proscribe Miyetti Allah, Fulani Terror Herdsmen, Al-Queda in the Maghreb, Islamic State in West Africa Province & Ansaru, as terrorist organisations, the world won’t take @NGRPresident serious.
“The world is aware that #Nigeria is a terror enabling.”
